The Earth Science Education Program at Stony
Brook prepares students with undergraduate majors in the earth sciences or
a Master of Arts in Teaching Earth Science to assume teaching positions in
grades 7-12.
The Science Education programs at Stony
Brook have undergone a re-certification by the State Education Department.
As part of the re-certification the Earth Science Education programs have
modified their science curricula. The new science curricula will go into
effect for students entering the Earth Science Education Bachelors or MAT
programs for the Spring 2004 semester. Students who entered the Earth Science
Education programs for the Fall 2003 or earlier may select either the new science
curricula or the previous science curricula.
