Gneiss S and pegmatite K. Freshly plucked sample showing weathered surface and joints. Just north of Hand College in Tabler Quad  The low degree of roundness and multiple fractures suggest a short distance of transportation.

Pegmatite Gneiss Rounded up to 0.6 and fractured on left side. On the wall north of Tabler Quad and west of the steps leading to the quad.

Blade or disk shaped Gneiss S northeast of Schomburg Apartments.


This rock is an example of granite S associated with pegmatite K on the beach in Nissequoque on Long Island's north shore. There are deep cracks which in a subglacial environment should promote breakage of this boulder into pieces.  The low roundness and large size suggest that this rock traveled a very short distance.
