I worked in the environmental field for eleven years before entering the teacher preparation program at Stony Brook University. My professional experience ranges from corporate environmental management of air, soil and ground water remediation to environmental consulting for state and private soil and ground water remediation projects.
My educational background includes a B.S. degree from SUNY Cortland in Geography/concentration in Geology, M.S. (8-99) in Geosciences from SUNY Stony Brook, M.A.T. (12-99) earth science certification from SUNY Stony Brook.
My professional background primarily focused on hydrogeology. Since there are several other facets of geology/earth science that are addressed in a secondary earth science classroom, it would be advantageous for me take this opportunity to learn about and work on a geologic topic that is not related to hydrogeology. There are a few general topic areas that interest me most: (1) tectonics; (2) coastal zone erosion & management; and (3) glaciation.
